My work with individuals is approached from a collaborative blend of different theories including but not limited to Attachment, Emotion-Focused, and Internal Family Systems. Some of my goals with using these theories are to increase awareness and insight around your patterns in relationships and life. We are wanting to identify where you are feeling stuck and process this. We may do this by using your emotions in times of distress as information rather as something to avoid or be afraid of. We may look at some parts of you that are confusing and frustrating and try to approach them with curiosity as opposed to criticism or judgment. I also will incorporate coping skills building and distress tolerance work to build your capacity to manage uncomfortable emotions in times of stress.

I can bill OHP Care Oregon/Healthshare, Moda, Pacific Source and Aetna. I do have an allotted amount of reduced fee slots for clients who are in need of financial assistance. Please let me know if this is something you would like to discuss further.

I am trained in the Gottman method and Emotion-Focused Couples therapy and I use a collaborative blend of these theories to assist the relationship. For couples who are coming in to work on their relationship, I focus on interrupting negative cycles of communication by providing strategies and tools to use in times of conflict. I also aim to help deepen the emotional intimacy in the relationship by increasing emotional connection through shared vulnerability and processing past emotional hurts. However, some couples may be unsure if they want to continue the relationship and put forth effort to work on it. For these couples I offer discernment therapy. In discernment couples therapy I facilitate conversations around the decision of staying in the relationship or not.

My practice is both in person and virtual. I offer in person sessions at my office in Hillsboro on Mondays and Tuesdays. We would have our virtual sessions via a secured platform.
